1920 Kapp Putsch
Definition:
The Kapp Putsch 1920 is led by the Freikorps which consists of ex-army soldiers who defeated the Spartacist Uprising in 1921. They also took control of the government of Berlin in 1920.

HOW DID IT HELP HITLER RISE TO POWER?
  • The Kapp Putsch helped Hitler's rise to power by showing the weakness of the Weimar republic.
  • The government couldn't do anything to stop the uprising until the people of Berlin went on a strike.
  • This also disbanded the Freikorps army and some went to join Hitler's private army.
