The Extermination Campaign from 1930 to 1934 was a series of campaigns organized by Chiang Kai-shek to wipe out Communists. There were 5 extermination campaign in total. The first 4 campaigns were failure even though Chiang Kai-shek's armies outnumbered Mao's armies. Mao's tactics succeeded. In 1933, the fifth Extermination campaign was released. It's the biggest campaign throughout '30 to '34. General Hans von Seekt from Germany gave KMT a new method of attack. The tactic was surrounding the Jiangxi Soviets with half million troops. They made up blockhouses and put up barbed wires as they advanced. They blocked Communists from food supplies, fuel, and ammunition.
