Definition
After kicking out Japan, KMT and CCP continued their civil war in 1945
Brutal treatment of peasants by Mao in areas they controlled
War ended with complete victory of the CCP
In jan 1949, Beiping was taken by Communists without fight, and changed back to Beijing
Reasons for Rise
The ultimate reason for CCP to be in power is because they beat the KMT and Chiang fled to the Island of Taiwan
Mao was able to uprise by winning the support of the peasants and conquering from countryside to the cities.
