DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT:
*KPD: communist Party of Germany
underground cells were placed mostly in: Berlin, Mannheim, Hamburg, and central Germany
most members were paid party activists--> used false names/ papers
main aim: to always remain a step ahead of the Gestapo
most activists were caught by the Gestapo only six months later
eventually the number of activists in the KPD lessened
therefore KPD decided to rethink their strategies
1939 (january) cerated a 'popular front' consisting of anti-facists from in and outside of Germany
EFFECTIVENESS:
1939 (august) policy suffered because of the signed 'non-aggression pact' between Germany and the Soviets
therefore, KPD could only continue to warn the people the consequences Nazi's aggression could lead to
