Manchuria 1931-3

Japanese Invasion of Manchuria
Definition:
Japan invaded Manchuria (China) in 1931, and the League ordered Japan to withdraw from China which they refused, and thus the league appointed a commission under Lord Lytton who believes that Manchuria should be governed by the League in 1932, which Japan also rejected.
Significance/Results:
The result of the Japanese Invasion of Manchuria is the withdrawal of the Japanese from the League in 1933. The significance of this is that the Japanese refusal and withdrawal showed the weakness of the League and its prestige was damaged.
